Artist's notes
In “Harbor Studies” Margaret Boozer shares the preparatory “sketches” of her recent commission called “Harbor” which was installed at the new MGM Grand National Harbor located on the banks of the Potomac near Washington, DC. The final installation was a massive 18’x30’ topographical map that was made with over 10,000 pounds of raw clays, scrap rebar and even roots from the construction site. The studies range in size from 2’-12’ in size, explore the topography with maps, and material studies all made out of clays clays from the dig site.
