artist statement:

Curator Danielle O'Steen invited 4 artists to create site specific works for the Flashpoint Gallery. As a clay artist, I was interested in looking at what was under the floor. I got soil and boring logs from a construction site one block north of Flashpoint, allowing me to create a line of earth down the length of the gallery reflecting, foot for foot, what is likely under the ground on that site.

Thank you to Paul Germain from Clark Construction, and my amazing soil science team...Dr. Del Fanning, Dr. Marty Rabenhorst and Dr. Ed Landa.
