Dr. Luis Hernandez, the NYC Project leader before Shaw, who collected many of the samples (1995-2001).

Riker measurement: Riker is dark coal ash soil formed from the deposition of coal burning furnace refuse over 100 years ago.

Bigapple: This soil formed as a result of dredging activities in the coastal waterways and rivers.
